Conventional thumb forward grip - small ridges give more grip to the thumb, thus improving control.
The blade is wide enough and thick enough to allow a forward grip, improving control for the more intricate tasks involved in caping etc.
The thick spine gives good purchase for a 2x4 or branch of a tree to break through the rib cage or pelvic bone. The handle is long enough to keep your hands safely out of the way of the 2x4.
Note: Do not use a metal pipe or hammer.
